While it is common to think that pressure washing a roof would do more damage than good, it is just not true. While I understand why it is easy to believe that all that pressure on your shingles could be bad, let me explain.
First, we are experts in the application of correct pressure. This means we will not use a high psi wash on asphalt shingles. We will most likely use our soft wash. This soft wash relies on a low pressure nozzle and a cleaning solution that removes biological matter such as mold, moss and algae. PROBLEM SOLVED.
- Removal of organic matter and dirt decreases the ability for moss to grow and destroy your roof.
- Better water runoff. Cleaning a low pitch roof will help water shed faster and allow your roof to dry quicker. Moss, mildew and algae will hold water longer after it has rained.
- Increased curb appeal. If you are trying to sell your house or just keeping up appearances, having a clean roof says "we care about our house." In those moments as people drive up or drive by they will get the right impression about how you have taken care of your house.
- In some cases, increased energy efficiency is possible. While it probably wont be much, cleaned light colored roofs will reflect more light and therefore more heat than a dark mossy and mildew covered roof.
